Basic Questions
- All
that was installed was help files. What's wrong?
You have received more than just documentation manuals.
To locate the ispynow.exe module, you will have to browse
to the directory you installed iSpyNOW into [Default is
C:\Program Files\iSpyNOW].
- I
type in my password and it says "Password Incorrect". What's
wrong?
There are a number of reasons why this is occurring. The
most obvious reason is that you are using an incorrect password.
Ensure that you are using the password specified in "Password
- IMPORTANT!!.txt" file located in the installation directory
of iSpyNOW [Default is C:\Program Files\iSpyNOW].
Also, ensure that your browser supports, and is allowing
you to use JavaScript. iSpyNOW uses 128-bit encryption,
and the only way for your password to be encrypted is by
passing through our JavaScript encryption algorithm. Refer
to your browsers help file for information on turning on
JavaScripts.
- I
execute ispynow.exe but nothing happens!
This is perfectly normal. iSpyNOW was developed to be a
program that ran in complete in total stealth, so that the
user on the PC would NOT know that it is running. If you
have executed the ispynow.exe, it is in fact working, you
just do not see it, as it is running in hidden mode.
iSpyNOW offers no "visible" mode. To stop the ispynow.exe
module from monitoring your PC usage, run the "uninstall-ispynow.exe"
file located in your installation directory [Default is
C:\Program Files\iSpyNOW] to stop iSpyNOW from running on
your machine.
- When
I attempt to rename ispynow.exe, I get a message saying that
the program couldn't be opened because it was already running.
What's wrong?
This simply means that you cannot rename ispynow.exe because
it is running already. To stop iSpyNOW from running, simply
run the "uninstall-ispynow.exe" file located in your installation
directory [Default is C:\Program Files\iSpyNOW]. Once the
uninstall utility has disabled iSpyNOW from running, you
can freely rename the ispynow.exe module.
- I
purchased iSpyNOW, but I did not receive a download. What
do I do?
If you have purchased iSpyNOW, but did not download it after
ordering it, or you have lost your copy, you may contact
our support team.
Please e-mail the support
team with a request for an additional iSpyNOW installation
unit, your order ID, and your name. They will verify that
you are indeed a registered customer, and will deliver you
a new copy of iSpyNOW electronically.
- What
file do I send to the remote machine to be monitored?
The file you will send to the remote machine [or place on
the machine yourself] is the ispynow.exe module located
in your iSpyNOW installation directory [Default is C:\Program
Files\iSpyNOW]. You can rename this file accordingly before
sending it out via email if you wish to do so.
- How
do I send the iSpyNOW module to someone without them knowing
it is a spy program?
iSpyNOW is intended to be a hidden, stealth monitoring solution.
However, it is not supposed to be used for any malicious
purposes. We will not offer any suggestions for placing
this on a PC in which the user is not aware that it is being
used to monitor their activity. If you plan on using this
program in violation of the disclaimer, you must uninstall
the software immediately.
- When
the remote user executes iSpyNOW, do any windows or messages
pop up?
No. When the iSpyNOW module is executed on the remote machine,
the user will not see any windows, messages, pop ups, or
alerts. iSpyNOW runs in complete and total stealth, which
means the user will not receive any notification that they
software is running.
However, as stated in the license agreement, it is necessary
that you tell the user that they are being monitored before
you send them the iSpyNOW module.

Remote Monitoring Questions
- Where
do I go to view the logs on the remote machine?
To view the logs stored on a machine running iSpyNOW, you
will need to have a web browser [with an active internet
connection] and the IP address of the machine running iSpyNOW.
Once you have obtained the IP Address of the remote machine
[this is explained thoroughly in the included iSpyNOW help
file], you simply type in the following address into your
favorite web browser:
http://[ip address]:8943
Simply
replace the [ip address] with the IP Address of the
remote machine, and hit the "Go" button. If everything was
typed in correctly, you should be welcomed with the iSpyNOW
Control Panel login page!
- When
trying to connect to the remote computer, I get a "Server
Not Found" message.
This means that the computer you are trying to connect to
is NOT connected to the internet, or they have a firewall
or router running that is blocking outside connections.
If this is the case, you will need to open up the correct
port [8943] on the remote machines router or firewall.
- The
remote user rebooted the PC and I cannot connect anymore.
What's wrong?
If the remote user shutdown/rebooted/logged off the machine,
and you can not connect when the computer comes back online,
that means that the user has a dynamic IP Address rather
than a Static IP Address. This is common for dial up Internet
Service Providers such as AOL, Compuserve, Earthlink, NetZero,
etc. If this is the case, you will need to either resend
the ispynow.exe module to the remote machine, or obtain
the remote machines IP Address from the remote user before
you can connect to the iSpyNOW Control Panel again.
- Do
I have to specify 8943 in the website address when connecting
to the remote machine?
Yes - the port 8943 tells the web browser to connect on
port 8943, which is the that iSpyNOW opens u p on the remote
machine for remote connections. If this port is not specified,
then the web browser will default to port 80, which will
likely return DNS or Server errors.
- How
do I uninstall an iSpyNOW module on a remote machine?
To stop iSpyNOW from running on a machine, simply send the
file, or run the file "uninstall-ispynow.exe" on the machine
that contains a running iSpyNOW module.
- When
connecting to the remote machine, I receive Apache web server
errors. What's wrong?
This means that you are connecting to the remote machines
IP Address, but you are NOT specify the correct port to
connect to in the URL. Ensure that you are connecting to
the correct IP Address, and that you append ":8943" to the
end of the URL. Refer to the iSpyNOW documentation for more
information on connecting to a machine running iSpyNOW.
